Sustainability is not a label, nor is it a brand. It is a way of relating to the planet. But, in practice, is it possible to lead a sustainable life without being privileged? In response, we sought out ordinary people who are making a difference, proposing initiatives for a fairer and more sustainable planet. With inspiring narratives, Ideas to Change the World opens pathways to a better life for all of us and proposes a reflection on the era of regeneration.

The series raises an important question about humanity's relationship with the planet and is divided into 6 episodes with central themes: Alternative Economies; Food for All; Water for Life; Sustainable Housing; Sustainable Cities; and This Is Not Trash. In each episode, we meet the stories of 4 different people who are changing the world within their surroundings and communities through actions focused on collective and environmental well-being. The stories function as 4 short films and are stitched together by the animation.

Every documentary segment for each character was 100% scripted and planned scene by scene. To achieve this, director Leila Savary invited Thiago Dantas, an experienced screenwriter in various documentary formats and languages for television, who is deeply engaged and attentive to social issues. The episodes were filmed in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Bahia, under the cinematography of PH Costa Blanca. From conception to delivery, it took two years of extensive research, study, production, and hitting the road, across about 50 shooting days.

Within this mosaic of narratives, Lucas Millecco’s editing was essential to polishing each character's story. With a sharp and sensitive eye, the cutting found the perfect balance between the intimacy of their personal lives and the impact of the projects they lead, elevating these initiatives by grounding them in the deep, lived experiences of the people behind them. Far beyond structuring the footage, the editing seamlessly stitched these worlds together, giving form and rhythm to the creators' original vision for the series.
